I just got back from my vacation in Greece and have several recommendations for when you go during the fall months!
Clothes to pack for your fall Greece vacation
Fall in Greece is still warm during the day, but gets chilly in the evenings, so be sure to pack accordingly. My recommendation is to bring layers! I brought a medium weight jean jacket and a light cardigan, and wished I also had a light weight hoodie to layer for more casual outfits. Longer dresses and jumpsuits are also a great idea, as the wind is strong in the fall months. Still be sure to pack a few swimsuits, as the temperatures are still warm enough during the day for a dip in the ocean!
Toiletries to pack for your fall Greece vacation
Even though there are great pharmacies all over the islands, stocking up there can get pricey. My top tip is to bring body and facial sunscreen, as the sun is pretty powerful in Greece! After that, I would highly suggest a lip treatment – this is my favorite – because of the extremely salty water and how drying it can be on your lips. Because of the very salty air and water, a hair mask or two would be nice to have on hand. I searched several pharmacies and did not come across any masks, but very much needed one. Lastly, and this is more of a hack, bring a small bottle of laundry detergent! Hotels charge by the item, so laundry can add up, especially if you are staying for a while. We washed small items in the sink and left them out to dry in the warm sun.
Tech to pack for your fall Greece vacation
Number one item to remember is your travel adapter! I accidentally grabbed the wrong one, but thankfully the hotels had extra ones I could borrow. Learn from my mistake – purchase one like this and you’ll have more than enough ports for your electronics. If you take a lot of photos and videos like I do, having an extra battery pack is highly encouraged. This way, your phone won’t die when you need it most! You’ll spend a lot of time on the beaches in Greece, so having a trusted bluetooth speaker is key.
Miscellaneous items to pack for your fall Greece trip
In Greece, depending on the island, you might want to rent a car or ATV, and you’ll need your US drivers license to do so. Almost everything we read said we needed to also have an International drivers license, which you can get through AAA before your trip, but nobody asked us for proof of it. It’s always a good idea to have printed copies of your license, passport, and any other identification in your secure bag, just in case of theft or loss. We brought these hydration packs, melatonin gummies, and immunity vitamins to help with the timezone and air allergen adjustments. I also suggest bringing dramamine if you plan on doing any boating activities!
I hope this mini guide helps you know what to pack for your fall Greece vacation! Let me know in the comments below if I missed anything!
